Mattress Factory, Pittsburgh

What a place... down a back alley in Pittsburgh in a converted factory and terrace home are a select offering of whole room/house installations - from the light-perception marvels of James Turrell, to the psychedelic mirrors of Yayoi Kasuma, to the hole-through-the-floor spectacle of Sarah Oppenheimer (my favourite), to the spun web of threads encapsulating a life of Chiharu Shiota and in the yard the ruinous, urban garden of Rose Clancy.

What a serious bit of vision, quite frozen in time with the city pressed right up against it - with artist asylum housing and murals all down lane and one very barky dog in a yard.
